Engaging Organisations in the Sustainable Development Goals (the Global Goals Organisation Challenge)

In partnership with Allerdale

On June 24, 2016, we were thrilled to host another of our successful Leadership@Lunch sessions delivered in partnership with Allerdale and Copeland borough councils. This one-hour highly interactive seminar was facilitated by Clive Wilson, a director of Primeast Ltd and specialists in leadership development and organisational change. Clive is also chair of United Nation's Association (Harrogate) and an advocate for the Global Goals.

Clive is also a Fellow of CIPD and the author of Designing the Purposeful Organization – how to inspire business performance beyond boundaries.

His passion that links the two sides of his work is to "Design a Purposeful World" and he believes the Global Goals provide the answer.

The Global Goals

In September 2015, world leaders met at the United Nations in New York to formally adopt seventeen new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which have now become known as the "Global Goals". The goals present the most profound vision for humanity ever, covering topics ranging from the eradication of poverty, feeding the world, providing innovation for energy and infrastructure and even world peace. And the target date is 2030 meaning that we could see the world most of us have dreamt of becoming a reality (hopefully) in our lifetimes.

The goals also provide significant inspiration and opportunity for the business community which were explored in this workshop.
