DESCRIPTION:We’re looking for volunteers to take part in an exciting collaborative cluster careers event with your local primary school cluster by offering a short\, hands-on career-themed workshop or activity. \n\n\n\nWhat are these events?These collaborative events are part of the Primary Business Partnership and are delivered by the Centre for Leadership Performance. They bring together pupils from different primary schools within a local cluster\, and are held at the secondary school that the children are most likely to move on to. \n\n\n\nEach event includes a mix of Careers and STEAM activities\, designed to inspire children and help them learn about the wide range of careers available to them. \n\n\n\nWhat will you be doing as a volunteer?You’ll run a short\, interactive workshop or activity based on your job or industry. It doesn’t need to be complicated – just something fun and engaging to help children understand what you do and how it links to the world of work. \n\n\n\n\nYou’ll be based at one ‘station’ while small groups of pupils (approx. 15 per group) rotate around the room in a carousel format.\n\n\n\nYou’ll repeat the same workshop several times as new groups arrive.\n\n\n\nThe sessions are fully supported by the CforLP/PBP team – you won’t be alone!\n\n\n\n\nNo experience is needed\, just enthusiasm and a willingness to share your story. We’ll provide guidance and ideas if you’re not sure where to start.

You do not need to have a specific specialism. \n\n\n\nBusiness professionals are invited to attend the 20-minute meetings with each project team. In a typical ProjX week\, there may be two or three consecutive meetings. The volunteers do not need to prepare anything but come willing to listen and share advice and give feedback to the teams on their meetings. \n\n\n\nThe aim of this activity is for the students to demonstrate their understanding of how to prepare and lead an effective business meeting.
