Week 1

Team name: ??

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We have all met together to begin sharing our ideas and thoughts. We discussed the projects we had previously been involved in and what we wanted this project to be about. We did some 'Blue Sky Thinking' and put all our ideas down on paper in groups. When we shared our ideas, there was a strong environmental theme running through the groups.

What did you learn this week?

We all care very much about the environment and want to make a difference.

What did you find difficult this week?

Lots of the children said 'my project' or 'my logo' so we had many discussions about it being a Team led project, so it should be 'our.'

Week 2

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week, we began to refine our project ideas a bit more and think about what we could be called. Again, the children got together in small groups to share their ideas. They were so creative, coming up with a great range of ideas for the team name and logo.
We also listened to Carolyn from ECO Church at the Abbey. She told us the first story from the Bible, about how God made the world and how wonderful it was. She then demonstrated some of the things we have gone on to do to spoil this beautiful world. We talked about the things we could to to help the planet

What did you learn this week?

We went to look at the school field and realised that there is only grass and dandelions growing; little diversity to attract wildlife. We could see that the work the Church is doing fits with our environmental theme, so we can work on them both at the same time. We came up with lots of plans!

What did you find difficult this week?

We have lots of great ideas, but we need to put them into a plan and devise a timescale.
