We have talked about ideas and have decided where we are start selling our products at first.
What did you learn this week?
We have learned how to create an outline and start our own business. We have learned how to work as a team and to decide on a product and a business name. We have learned how to design our own logo using a technology software.

Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we met with Hannah Pears from iSH who is our business mentor. We worked out ideas for our 'Biscuit Squad' business. We thought about when we could start selling our biscuits. We decided our first biscuits would be made in a crown shape for King Charles' coronation.
What did you learn this week?
This week we learnt that running a business is hard work. We talked about how we could promote our business on Face Book and on Class Dojo. We learnt that in a business people have different roles like Managing Director and Marketing Officer.
What did you find difficult this week?
Somethings we found difficult were: working out the different roles in our business, working out when we were going to make our biscuits and agreeing on the design for our first batch of biscuits.
Week 3
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have been making our coronation-themed shortbread biscuits and we have sold them in our yard, we also got some funky food ambassadors to help us out with the process.
What did you learn this week?
We have learned how to decorate biscuits neatly and cook them, also how to sell them to make a profit.
What did you find difficult this week?
We sold out fast, and we had to keep going back and forth out of the building so next time we will bring the biscuits closer to us and make more.

Delegating different jobs

Making a to do list
Week 4
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We met as a team to talk about our plan for moving forward. We decided when our next biscuit sale would be and chose a theme for our biscuits, we decided on space themed biscuits to celebrate space week. We then made a to do list and gave out different jobs to everyone on the team.
We looked at our last biscuit sale and found out we made £55.80. We had written a letter to our local flour mill who donated flour and the school kitchen donated sugar. We bought butter for £3 so our profits were £52.80!
What did you learn this week?
We learned how to delegate and use people for their strengths, e.g. giving design activities such as poster to people who are really good at art and drawing.
What did you find difficult this week?
This week was SATS week and also some people were out of school trips so we found it hard to meet as regularly as normal as a whole team.
Week 5
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we had a meeting with Hannah from iSH and learned about financial management. We filled out overhead sheets and Hannah taught us to log resources/ingredients even if they were donated/free as this was seen as good practice. We were lucky enough to receive a flour donation from the Carrs Flour Mill after writing them a letter. We discussed social value and making a product which is not priced too high, meaning they are now accessible to everybody and we can give back to the community, we also discussed that we want people to keep coming back for more.
What did you learn this week?
We learned about finances, good practice surrounding finances and how to fill out overhead sheets. We learned about profits and how to make one, as well as setting prices. We learned all about product marketing, then put this into practice by making posters and sending out facebook posts and texts.
What did you find difficult this week?
Our year 5/6 children have gone on their residential so we have had 3 less team members who normally do really important jobs within the team.

Learning about marketing strategies and deciding on our own

Our fantastic space themed biscuit stall which we decorated to make it more eye catching
