Week 4
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week was the first week we got to meet up as we were paired up last minute.
It was lovely to meet the kids, they were all very enthusiastic and full of ideas for a business.
They are having a Christmas fayre so we decided to make reindeer food & Christmas cookies to sell there, we also talked about making little care packages for the local care home with any money we make.
Beccy
It was great meeting Beccy. She told us all about what she does at her work and how the business is ran. We created a mind map full of amazing ideas for our project and decided a Christmas theme be amazing.
What did you learn this week?
We talked about what a social enterprise is and what I did at work
Beccy
What did you find difficult this week?
Learning about what different businesses can provide/offer.
Week 5
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week the Ellenborough Elves designed their logo.
This week we all worked independently to design a logo. We decided together on the things were 'non-negotiables' like our business name and beautiful drawings that must be on every logo.
We then had a vote and each child voted for their favourite logo, after all of the grown ups had a difficult time deciding.
What did you learn this week?
We learned how to capture peoples attention and how to draw them in to what we have to offer.
What did you find difficult this week?
How important it is to advertise our business. No one would know about us, if we didn't try.

Week 6
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we created a shopping list. We had our £50 and knew we had some supplies to buy. We checked all of the things we needed and then googled how much each item could be.
We were going to spend around £35. It wasn't going to leave us much. Arghh!
What did you learn this week?
How we have to use our starting fund to get our business ready to help us create a profit.
What did you find difficult this week?
We spoke lots about risk taking and how some business never manage to make what they spend starting out. We hope we will. We really want to help our community.
Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
After buying and paying for all of our supplies. It was time for our makers to get making.
The team worked with Beccy to create some 'first samples' of our reindeer food. We REALLY want to help the community so we opted for colourful sprinkles instead of glitter to help save littering and the animals.
We think they look great!
What did you learn this week?
We discussed how many samples we would need to create for each item.
What did you find difficult this week?
It's very difficult knowing how many samples to create. What about if we run out, or nobody buys any of our lovely reindeer food.

Beccy was amazing help.

Our families will love this for Christmas eve!

Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week our advertisement team worked with Beccy to create some posters. These were to let our community know all about our business and our Christmas fayre, which is where we are going to sell our produce.
What did you learn this week?
What features need to be on our advertisement.
What did you find difficult this week?
Pressure!! Our factory (classroom) is running out of time.
Week 9
Tell us what you have been doing this week
What a success! Friday was our christmas fayre. Beccy came to help us run our stall. We sold ALL of our produce. Everybody loved what we had made.
What did you learn this week?
All the hard work paid off, everything was sold so quickly. What would the Ellenborough Elves do now?
What did you find difficult this week?
What will we do with all of this money? Our finance team worked with a grown up to count the money, this was very tricky.

We have learned how to work together and to share our jobs out, it has been a really sociable time and we have loved it.
