Week 1
Team name: We don't have one yet!
Tell us what you have been doing this week
Last week we met Georgia and the team from Nestle. They introduced themselves and spoke about the company they work for.
Mrs Brumpton asked the school ambassadors and some children from all the classes to come and meet the team. We played some games which were fun and some of us had to dress up in PPE as if we were working at Nestle - we had a great time.
We talked about goods and services and by the end we were able to say which was which. By having this early introduction we are all set for next week!
We talked about which charity we wanted to support. We are voting in each class.
What did you learn this week?
This week we learned about some different businesses in our local area, Georgia and her team made a fun road map for us put the businesses on. We had to help Aero the dinosaur to find the business he needed depending on the service or product we wanted.
What did you find difficult this week?
We split into smaller groups and used the mapping activity to explain the 5ps, this was tricky to begin with but we had lots of help from our super Nestle team and came up with some great answers!

Designing sustainable packaging

Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We talked about sustainability. We weren't sure what this was at first but Georgia set us a challenge to design a new hot drink and with that the packaging that came with it. We had lots of fun being creative and we really pleased with the results. We talked about what we knew about recycling and materials and which were better for the planet. We are holding a competition for the whole school to design a new package and drink.
Sustainability would be one of the most important features of our social enterprise.
The class votes are in and we have chosen to support Oak Tree Animal Refuge.
What did you learn this week?
We need to consider the impact of our Christmas event and how we can make it a sustainable venture - we need to tell our friends about this.
We used the knowledge we had about materials and recycling to make informed choices about packaging e.g. cardboard and not plastic.
What did you find difficult this week?
It was hard to decide on which charity to pick, we wanted to support British Values and decided that a vote was the fairest way so our ambassadors presented this to the class and all votes counted.

"They (Nestle) were really good at making fun games"
For teachers to answer:
Can you tell us the impact this programme has had on your school?
It has allowed the children to learn what is is like to make a product and sell it. They loved coming each week to complete their 'special jobs' and kept asking for more and more friends to join in.
