We asked lots and lots of questions!

What did you learn this week?

We learnt what business was.

We leant about different services and products.

What did you find difficult this week?

Week 2

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we decided to hold a competition to design a logo that symbolises the collaboration of working together.

We decided on a team name.

What did you learn this week?

Mrs Brumpton showed us how to make a poster.

We helped to decide what colours and fonts to use.

We practiced our typing skills.

What did you find difficult this week?

We learnt how to listen to one another, at times our excitement takes over and we are not good listeners.

We reminded one another of our good listening and speaking rules.

Week 3

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we made mind maps to explore what we are going to do.

Ashleigh and Stuart came and helped us with what to consider in each area.

What did you learn this week?

We learnt about different ways we could fundraise and how we could ask for donations.

We talked about people we would like to help and that our business support also has a contact in that area.

What did you find difficult this week?

We found it hard to know where to start with the mind mapping process but after we spoke to one another and the adults supported us we came up with lots of good ideas.

Week 4

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we have been deciding which year group will be in charge of which product or service.

We have chosen to link our event to wellbeing as it is important and it is something we want to really embed at school and at home.

We are using the five ways of wellbeing.

We chose a winner from our logo design competition

What did you learn this week?

We learnt that we need to make sure we cater for all the children at school so that they can be a part of it so we thought about our nursery children.

What did you find difficult this week?

It was hard to pick a winner for the logo competition and we didn't always agree but we were respectful of other children's opinions.

Week 5

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We asked Mrs Corfield to start adding our event to social media to help generate some interest.

We have started to collect sticks, lots of sticks so we can make a start after half term.

WE have decided to make worry sticks, seed packets for wild flowers, woodland creatures and clay hedgehogs.

We want to raise as much money as possible so we are going to also sell sweetie bags and host a raffle

What did you learn this week?

We learnt that we need to ask for help at times and because we are a nursery and infant school we will need to ask our grown ups to help us make our products.

What did you find difficult this week?

We found it tricky to decide which year group should make each item but we were able to compromise.

We had a lot of soggy sticks as the weather was wet so we set about finding places to dry them!

For pupils to answer:

In one sentence please tell us what bright stars has meant to you?

It was fun!

For teachers to answer:
Can you tell us the impact this programme has had on your school?

This programme has helped the children to use our well embedded learning powers and put them to good use! For example collaboration, resilience and reflecting. The programme allowed us to explore these traits in other ways which was a great way to demonstrate our pupil voice. The engagement from parents and local businesses was fantastic and supports to school in having a positive impact and engagement within the community. We were also pleased to help a local charity and being able to follow through the children's idea for this was powerful; showing that they can make a difference!
