Week 3

Tell us what you have been doing this week

Refreshments team - split into three groups (waffles, drinks, ice lollies) and did some research on what was needed for those products

Stalls - we each shared our stall idea. We then looked up ideas and instructions using the computer. Terence was looking at how to spend some of the money keeping it low cost e.g. apples for apple bobbing

Sports - decided on the sports - fun run, obstacle course, 3 legged race and penalty shoot out. Then each group planned the costs and who was doing what

What did you learn this week?

Daisy - That we should try and use some of things we have already instead of buying new things so we don't waste the money

What did you find difficult this week?

It was hard to agree on which type if lollipop to make and sell. The problem is that they take about 8 hours to cool to be ready to eat
Some people wanted the same jobs so we had to compromise

Week 4

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We were finding the cost of the food or drinks that we are making.
We were trying to make persuasive posters for the people that each stall were trying to persuade to come to our stalls, like my cosy reading stall. We were thinking about how we could try and encourage the elderly or very young people to come to our event.
The refreshment group were typing the ingredients down.
The Sports team, wrote a letter to the Parish Council to ask if we could use the Memorial Field for the sports.

What did you learn this week?

The price of paper cup, and which supermarket is the best to ask due to the lowest cost.
Some stalls needed their stalls to be free but some stalls you could pay for but we struggled to decide which to pay for and which to be free but we learnt that some stalls really were not worth paying for.

What did you find difficult this week?

What shops to ask for the ingredients.
We did not know where to show posters that showed there would be stalls about.
Doing the posters so they were bright but still clear for people to read.

Week 8

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we did our Bright Stars event which was the sports day. We set up our equipment in the hall and on the school field and the yard. The events started at 14:30 we did races, stalls and refreshments. The events ended at 16:30. It was very fun. We raised an amazing £445.17. This money will go towards 4 different charities, FoSS(friends of shap school), St Michael church, Debra UK and diff ability.

What did you learn this week?

We learnt how to be good business people. We also learnt how to put on a successful event and raise lots of money.

What did you find difficult this week?

The wind made it difficult because our stuff kept blowing away. Setting everything up was also difficult because there was lots to do in a small amount of time and that made it a little stressful.

What did you learn this week?

We learnt that we raised a lot of money and altogether we raised £443.71. We are all wowed with amazement because we raised so much money for a small school.

What did you find difficult this week?

We found making it sense a bit hard and we need to remember lots of stuff from happy Shappies sports day because there was such a big number of stalls and activities you cant even count howmany we did
