Week 1

Team name:

Tell us what you have been doing this week

During week 1, our partner Charlotte came in and introduced the project. We had lots of ideas:
- colour run and ice cream stall were our favourites
- painting stones or shirts with positive phrases

We voted for two CO's of our company, Charlie and Nellie.

What did you learn this week?

It was hard to agree as everyone wanted to do different projects.

What did you find difficult this week?

Getting everyone to agree

Week 2

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We couldn't decide on which project to do. Colour run and ice cream stall were favourites so we decided to split the money and do both.

We decided on our company name, 'Colourful Delight'.

Our group split and begun to work on the two ideas.

Week 3

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We now have a logo and we have started to research our projects.

What did you learn this week?

Colour run paint is very expensive. We tested to see if powder paint would work but it was faint. We are going to contact another school to see where they got their paint.

Week 5

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We met with our project lead but we haven't done much since the last meeting on this project.

We focussed on the ice cream sale and set a date.

Note from the Headteacher: During the time of Bright Stars, the children also wanted to paint a wall to improve the look of our school. They didn't want to do this as the Bright Stars project. In hindsight, I should have encouraged this as they really got into it and any spare time has been devoted to this.

What did you learn this week?

We decided that we needed to focus on one thing as two projects was too difficult to organise.

What did you find difficult this week?

We also found out that the paint was going to cost us too much money to set up.

The group who wanted the Colour Run were not happy that we didn't manage to complete this.

Week 6 - half term

Week 7

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We made a poster and sent it to the children and parents on our school newsletter. We asked the headteacher to email it.

We decided how much stock we needed and worked out how much it would cost and who would buy it.

We have made posters for the stall and planned who will take the money and who will make the ice creams.

What did you learn this week?

When we all worked on one part of the project, we got more done.

What did you find difficult this week?

We didn't have much time left.

Week 8

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We bought the ice cream and promoted it again.

We held our ice cream sale.

What did you learn this week?

Next time, we need to remind people more as some people forgot their money.

The weather wasn't brilliant and it rained all day but stopped raining at the end of the day just in time for the sale.

Week 9

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We have counted the profit. We made a total of £98.85.

What did you learn this week?

Overall, we learnt that it is hard and the plans don't always work out how you wanted it to. You need to patient and work together.
