Week 1
Team name: The Pebble Pals
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have been working with our business mentors to come up with a super idea for our social enterprise. We have decided to use recycled pebbles and make people happy by painting our pebbles and giving them some positive quotes. The mentors were fabulous with the children and they took on board their ideas and were able to get everyone involved.
What did you learn this week?
We found out from a proper entrepreneur what having your business entails, what jobs are involved in running your own business and how important it is to market something that people really need.
What did you find difficult this week?
Being able to work together and make joint decisions as we all had such fabulous ideas. Team work though and decisions were made.

Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we have started production of our Pebble Pals. The children have been decorating the pebbles and designing various themes for them so that they will appeal to a wider audience. The children were so eager to use the bright colours and work with our business mentors. We then assigned jobs to each of our team so that we are able to manage the project, keep track of the money, sell as many items as possible and all work as a team.
What did you learn this week?
This week we learnt all about the varying roles there are in business. What each role does and how we would need to do it. Even though we will work together as a team we will also all have our very own job role within the team.
What did you find difficult this week?
Understanding the roles of the business and working out what our strengths are to find out who will be the best at the job.

Hopefully next week we will start to make sales and see how much profit we can make.
What did you learn this week?
We have been learning about distribution and reaching a wide audience for our sales. We have planned together who we know and where we might be able to sell our Pebble Pals.

Week 6 - half term
Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
Due to a high demand we have had to replenish our stock. The children have discussed which pebbles have sold well and which ones we still have left. Did people like the tags? Which messages sold better than others? Did people like the positive messages? The business mentors supported the children in small groups and the ideas generated were very interesting. The children expressed their reflections and were able to plan out the next steps needed to continue to generate sales.
What did you learn this week?
How to evaluate sales and plan for future sales. Working together and collaborating can ensure that we get the best possible ideas and planning together generates more ideas which can lead to more sales.
What did you find difficult this week?
Evaluating and reflecting on our past sales was a tricky job. The children really had to work as a team to think about what pebbles had been selling well and which ones we needed to replicate.

There was lots of discussions about who might have been more important within the team but everyone soon realized that every team member played a vital role.
