Week 5

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We came up with a plan for how we are going to run things and we discussed how much everything is going to cost. Everyone discussed in their groups how much they want their items to cost. The most popular idea was buying a seed, this is where someone will come in and buy a seed, then go and plant it on the school grounds, the kids loved this idea as it helps the environment.
The kids are going to go home and sell as much raffle tickets as possible.
We also set a date for the morning which was the 11th June.

What did you learn this week?

This week we learned how our business will work. We all discussed and agreed how we will optimise our profits and contribute towards the environment at the same time.

Week 7

Tell us what you have been doing this week

As this whole process has been all the childrens idea, today they had a solo run through of what was going to be happening. From the very beginning everything has been the childrens ideas, from the posters to the coffee morning. Today the 4 groups split up and made a poster to stick on the front of their table to advertise what they are going to be selling. After spening 20 minuites on this we went into the hall and in their 4 groups they went to their table each, me and their teacher then went round each stall and asked them to sell us what they had.

What did you learn this week?

We learnt how to make a sale to people by creating a need for something so they will buy the products.

What did you find difficult this week?

We found difficult getting everyone to commit to their groups as most people wanted to do one role.

Week 8

Tell us what you have been doing this week

In the final week before the coffee morning the children made one last effort to understand their roles and what they are going to be doing. The children then finished their posters to stick on the front of their table.

Week 9

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we did our coffee morning. Lots of teachers and students contributed to making cakes. Lots of parents came into the school and bought things from each of the stalls. All of the children were very successful and knew exactly what they were doing. They announced the raffle to a whole room of people, sold cakes to everyone making sure to count the right change. Sold lots of seeds to be planted to help the environment, and the counted the sweets in the jar. All of the children knew exactly what roles the had in their teams and executed them perfectly.
