We met our business mentor Becks from Hardheads Heritaged.
We thought of ideas for our business.
We decided to have a caricature photo booth at our village May Day and then make crafts to sell at another time.

Week 3
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We looked at different local charities and decided to raise money for Penrith Mountain Rescue. We emailed them to see if they would come and talk to us about what they do.
Becks talked to us about the different job roles in a business and decided who was going to have each role.

We have been making our Photo Booth ready for May Day and practising our caricatures.
We have designed a ladybird for making keyrings and decided which products we are going to make.
Becks has talked to us about our business plan and finances.
On May Day we made £42 with our Photo Booth.

Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We had a brilliant visit from Tess and Paul who volunteer with Penrith Mountain Rescue. They showed us all of their equipment and let us use their gps locators as well as letting Nicole have a ride on the stretcher.
Jessica brought in the lazer cut keyrings so that we could add the final touches.
We made posters, emails and Facebook posts to advertise our product sale.
What did you learn this week?
A lot about what the mountain rescue do!
We also met online with Becks who told us about marketing.
What did you find difficult this week?
The keyrings were a bit fiddly!

Tess and Paul from Penrith Mountain Rescue came to tell us about the volunteer work they do.

We attached the metal rings to our ladybird keyrings.

Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We had our sale of our crafts. Unfortunately Sports Day was cancelled so part of our sales plan couldn’t go ahead but we adapted and sold some of the products on the school playground at hometime.
Despite this we managed to sell most things and made £115!

Becks came to see us one last time. We gave her a thank you card and presents.
What did you learn this week?
The importance of thanking those who help us.
What did you find difficult this week?
Deciding how to spend the money. As a class we couldn’t think of a good thing to use our half of the money for. Eventually we decided we should donate the whole amount to Penrith Mountain Rescue.

We worked together as a team to make our products.
