Leading Change

Mentor secondary students to lead change in their communities
Location: Lakes College West Cumbria
Commitment: Minimum 1 hour per week for 12 weeks.
Date/Time: Between April – July 2025 (Dates and Times to be agreed with the college)
Opportunity:
Be a business mentor and help shape the leaders of tomorrow by providing guidance and mentorship.
We are looking for volunteers to work with the Foundation Learning group at Lakes College. These students have a range of additional needs and will be well supported by college staff.
The Leading Change Programme enables us to engage with 11- to 18-year-olds across Cumbria to inspire and nurture future aspirations and empower young people to make decisions, to make commitments and ultimately to make a difference to their communities. Working with Sellafield Ltd and funded by SIX (Social Impact Multiplied) in 2023 and 2024, the Leading Change Sustainability Campaign programme enabled young people from schools across West Cumbria to lead a campaign and raise awareness around key sustainability issues in their schools and communities.
