Location: Cumberland (with flexibility for remote work)
Type: Full-time | Permanent
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Reports to: CEO and BECBC Board

Overview

Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) is seeking a Member Secretary to play a central role in supporting and engaging its growing membership network. This is a hands-on, people-focused position, acting as a key point of contact for members and helping them gain maximum value from their membership.

The role combines member engagement, administration, systems management, and event support, requiring excellent organisation, communication skills, and a proactive, service-led approach.

Key Responsibilities

Member Support & Engagement

  • Welcome new members and support their onboarding, ensuring awareness of meetings, sector groups, and engagement opportunities
  • Coordinate meeting bookings and liaise with the social media team to support video content
  • Deliver a positive offboarding experience, promoting continued engagement with member benefits
  • Keep members informed about events, meetings, and promotional opportunities
  • Provide consistently excellent customer service

Membership Administration

  • Manage membership renewals, including invoicing, updating company details, and following up payments
  • Respond to member queries and resolve issues, including access to Glue Up or website-related support

Glue Up & Website Management

  • Manage the Glue Up platform, ensuring the members’ area functions effectively for ticketing and information sharing
  • Monitor platform updates and share relevant changes with members and the internal team
  • Maintain the website by posting tenders, news, and events in a timely manner
  • Liaise with A Digital to resolve technical issues

Events & Sector Groups

  • Support the planning and delivery of Energy Networx and Sector Group events
  • Attend events when required, providing administrative and on-the-day support
  • Assist Sector Groups with logistics, venue sourcing, and event coordination

Reporting & Communications

  • Assist with reporting using Excel, producing clear and accessible information
  • Record and digitise media content when social media colleagues are unavailable
  • Attend communications meetings to help identify and support engagement opportunities

Executive & Board Support

  • Take minutes at Board meetings and provide operational updates
  • Support venue sourcing and administrative tasks as required
  • Attend Shadow Board, Strategy Day, Communications, and Operations meetings when needed

Prospects & Membership Growth

  • Engage with guest members and prospects to encourage full membership
  • Manage trial memberships and support conversion to full membership

Other Duties

  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the CEO or BECBC Board
