Location: Carlisle
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Standard office hours
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Their client is seeking a Graduate Fashion Buyer to join their established buying team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fashion to begin their career in a fast-paced retail environment.

Reporting to the departmental Buyer, the successful candidate will support the buying function by ensuring that administrative and buying processes align with organisational objectives and support both retail and online product ranges. The role involves regular interaction with stores, suppliers, distribution teams, and area management, making strong communication and relationship-building skills essential.

Full training will be provided, along with clear opportunities for career progression for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing administration and desk control, including emails, files, diaries, and internal processes
  • Supporting seasonal sample range management across all departments and collections
  • Maintaining diary awareness for key meetings and critical paths
  • Managing supplier approvals for trims, buttons, threads, embroideries, and related components
  • Coordinating the booking, tracking, returning, and shipping of samples
  • Assisting with visual range planning and sample preparation for photoshoots and web photography
  • Liaising with marketing, merchandising, and design teams on store manuals and window displays
  • Organising travel and accommodation for business trips
  • Managing corporate card administration and expenses
  • Supporting sample sales and maintaining the warehouse archive room
  • Assisting with focus groups, research activities, and competitor shop reports
  • Creating and maintaining documentation including colour standards, trim specifications, and prototype files
  • Supporting postal procedures and general buying administration

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A degree in fashion or marketing (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Good numerical ability
  • Confident communicator with strong people skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
