Team name: GS Art
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we have introduced ourselves and talked about our business ideas. We wrote down our ideas and had a vote, art was the winner. We picked a name for our business - GS Art, and then started production - drawing pictures for us to sell.
What did you learn this week?
- The word production.
- Colouring is lots of fun.
- Hard work is rewarding.
What did you find difficult this week?
Producing the art work made our arms ache. It was hard to make the art work look good.

Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have been developing our business plan even further. We discussed the different types of art we can sell and talked about the possibility of including the 'friendship bracelet' theme into our business. Our Product Manufacturer Lottie demonstrated how to create Loom Band bracelets and we all had fun creating some.
What did you learn this week?
How to create an eye catching logo.
How to make friendship bracelets from Loom Bands.
What did you find difficult this week?
Some of us found making Loom Band bracelets difficult but some found it easy.
Week 3
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We had a very busy week with Bank Holiday, strike day, bowling visit, Moo music day and King's Coronation Party day so we struggled to timetable Bright Stars into our week.
What did you learn this week?
We have lots of important events happening and sometimes it is difficult to find time to do everything.
What did you find difficult this week?
Finding time to concentrate on our project.

Week 4
Tell us what you have been doing this week
SM and PC have created posters to advertise when and where the sale will take place.
The production crew have been very busy making the friendship bands. We are all finding it easier to make them but it still takes time.
Everyone has been involved and have helped each other.
What did you learn this week?
It takes quite a long time to make the bands so we need to spend longer making the bands.
What did you find difficult this week?
We tried to use extra bands because this makes the finished product look better but it hurt our fingers too much.

Production, Production, Production!!
We told other classes about our business.
Advertising crew finished their posters and we posted on Tapestry and Parent Mail to tell everyone.
What did you learn this week?
That you need to plan carefully when and where to sell and make sure everyone knows about it.
What did you find difficult this week?
We needed help to put the advertisements on Tapestry.

It was difficult to work out how much Ava's dad needed to pay because he bought a lot of things.

Can you tell us the impact this programme has had on your school?
Children were given the opportunity to be in charge, set their own agenda and work together towards a shared goal. Before taking part in this initiative, they had absolutely no knowledge of what a business was. During Bright Stars they have developed their understanding along with better communication skills, resilience and teamwork (as well as many other individual skills). All children enjoyed the experience and contributed.
