Week 1
Team name:
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we learnt about the difference between businesses and social enterprises. We want to turn our school garden into a community garden so we brain stormed our ideas using drawings and words.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to run a buisness and how we could brain storm all our ideas to make one final drawing.
What did you find difficult this week?
This week, we struggled to accurately draw a representation of our ideas and how this would look in our school garden. Also, we had to do lots of planning.

Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we split into teams with our BAE mentors.
We had 5 teams:
Research Team - used the internet to research the price of tools, plants and things we needed for the garden.
Communications team - designed a name and logo for our company. We voted as a class for the best logo.
Finance team - added up the cost of everything we wanted and said no to things that are too expensive.
Project managers - made a plan of how we should spend our time working on the project.
Fundraisers - came up with ideas of raising funds including a bake sale, plant sale and having a non uniform day.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt lots of skills this week: searching the internet for things we would need to purchase for our garden, designing a logo that could be used for our garden, how to manage money, how to run a project and events we could do to raise more money.

Team 3 cleared the boat flower bed and planted some herbs.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to plant seeds and why it is important to get rid of weeds.
What did you find difficult this week?

Week 4
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we spoke to our Head Teacher and organised a non-uniform day to raise money for our school garden. All children in each year group came into school wearing non-uniform and donated £1.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt organisational skills, how to organise an event to raise more money. We also learnt how to count money to work our the total money raised.
What did you find difficult this week?
This week we found advertising difficult. We struggled to make sure all children were aware of the non-uniform day and what the money donated would go towards.
Week 5
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we had a zoom call with BAE. They showed us our final design of our community logo. We printed this out to show the rest of the school.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to communicate to organisations in different ways rather than meeting in person.
What did you find difficult this week?
We found communicating through the computer difficult as our microphone wasn't working so BAE struggled to hear us. We managed to solve this by messaging on the chat rather than talking.

This is our final logo that has been produced.
Week 6 - half term
Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we organised for our year group to host a stall at our summer's fair. All the children came up with ideas of stalls that could take place. The children produced posters to advertise our stall to get more customers.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to mind map our ideas and pick one final idea that everyone would be happy to go ahead with for our stall.
What did you find difficult this week?
We didn't have anything that was difficult this week.

Our stall at the Summer Fair.
Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we finalised our posters for our summers fair. We spoke to our head teacher to make sure we were able to host a stall and Miss Hoyland went to buy a teddy using the money we have raised. We came up with names for our 'Name the Teddy' game and picked the winning name. On Friday we had our summers fair, some children came to work on the stall making sure we got lots of customers to raise lots of money.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to run a stall. We had lots of organisational skills to make sure everything was in place before the summer fair started. We also learnt how to handle customers, making sure we were polite by giving them clear instructions on how to play the game.
What did you find difficult this week?
The one thing we found difficult was finding the time to make sure we had everything prepared in time for Friday.
Week 9
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we recorded our video of what we have been doing over the last few weeks on our project.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to speak clearly when speaking on camera. We also learnt how to present our ideas and make a video.
What did you find difficult this week?
We found it hard to think of the best time to make the video with other children working around the school. We also found it difficult to remember what we needed to say.
