Week 1
Team name: Victoria Acada-cake
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we have been put into business groups and a team leader has been selected. We have confirmed who we are raising money for and what we are going to do to raise funds.
Each team has been given a task to complete for the following week. Our teacher has given us the option to create a logo for our business which we are going to vote on next week in our Bright Stars meeting.
We have also had a visit from Will the Graphic Designer. He came in to tell us about creating a logo and how he will make it digital which is really interesting.
What did you learn this week?
We have learnt what an enterprise and the importance of teamwork when working as a business. The leaders also found out what it means to be a good leader and the jobs they will need to do to lead the team.
What did you find difficult this week?
We sometimes found it difficult coming to a decision about how to run the business and what to do to raise funds. We decided the fairest way was to vote for things.

Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we have created an introduction video. In the video, we introduced our team name, the charity we are raising money for and what we are going to do to raise funds. We decided our team logo this week by completing a vote. Our teacher will send this to Will. The leaders of each team went to Oxley to advertise our business. They did a Dragon's Den and told Darren what teams they are leading. He said that we should think about doing a survey to find out popular cakes. We told him our target and he said he would double the amount if we were successful.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to work as an effective team.
What did you find difficult this week?
At first, the leaders found speaking in front of the CEO quite tricky but they got used to it and enjoyed themselves.

Miss Patterson has sent out more letters asking staff in the school to support us and donate cakes for our bake sale. Also, we helped Miss Patterson respond to Emily from Oxley who has sent information off to Will who is going to make our posters for each event.

Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
Our teacher showed us the posters and logo that Will made for our business. We printed them off to hand out to grown-ups at the end of the day. Our teacher also told us that our coffee and cake event hasn't sold very well so we sent the poster home to our parents with information telling them this. We have said that we may have to cancel this event if no more tickets are sold.
Fortunately, after we sent the poster home, we got more sales and the event can go ahead! We have also made a video explaining the two events to ensure people understand want is happening.
What did you learn this week?
We have learnt how to manage our business to make sure we make the most money and it is successful.
What did you find difficult this week?
We found it difficult making the decision that we may have to cancel our coffee and cake event as this is something we really want to host. We don't have to cancel this after additional advertising.

Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week has been our sales week! We have sold cakes and artwork at Oxley and held a sale at school at the end of the day. We also held a coffee and cake afternoon for Year 4 grownups and it was brilliant! Cakes were donated by parents for the Monday sales and we baked for the cake and coffee event.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to serve customers and developed our customer service skills. We enjoyed serving grown-ups and seeing how much they were enjoying the event.
What did you find difficult this week?
It was quite difficult setting up the cake sale and the cake and coffee event. We had to make sure we were ready by a particular time and were organised with a plan in place so it was smooth.
