We have been making sweet cones to sell for our halloween disco in school.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to tie knots, how to share the sweets effectively to make the most cones possible.
What did you find difficult this week?
Making sure we were holding the bags carefully and not splitting them.

We have been making our bracelets this week, thinking about designs and materials needed.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to create our own promotional videos with the help of our friends from UTC
What did you find difficult this week?
Threading the bracelets was tricky and very fiddly! We had to be very patient!
Week 4

Our partners UTC came to help us create a promotional video for our business!
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to create our own promotional video and how to look professional when speaking.
What did you find difficult this week?
Speaking in front of the camera was difficult for some of us but we persevered and did a great job!
Week 5

This week we continued to create our bracelets and fulfill our orders from our customers.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt how to fulfill orders for customers and how to produce bracelets that would fit properly!
What did you find difficult this week?
Making sure our bracelets didn’t snap!

Week 6
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We visited our partners at the UTC! We learnt about the different machines and how we could use them to create our own baubles!
What did you learn this week?
We learnt about different elements of engineering and what it’s like to attend a college.
What did you find difficult this week?
Creating simple designs was very difficult!
Week 7
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have been creating Christmas sweet cones to sell around school and during our Christmas craft afternoon.
What did you learn this week?
We learnt about how to combine different sweets to create an appealing sweet cone. We also learnt how to adapt when certain sweets were getting low to make sure our customers continued to get the same quality product.
What did you find difficult this week?
Making sure all the sweet cones were uniform was difficult!

Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
This week we have been decorating our wooden baubles in preparation for our Christmas craft afternoon tomorrow!
What did you learn this week?
We learnt about different paints and markers we could use to create unique baubles for our customers. We were also able to consider how we would show them on our stall.
What did you find difficult this week?
Decorating the baubles got very messy!
Week 9
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have sold lots of different products this week. We have counted our profits, putting them into money bags, ready to be deposited at the bank. We have also been making our final video!
What did you learn this week?
How to count and sort money into bank bags. We learnt how to develop our selling skills to make a bigger profit.
What did you find difficult this week?

The project has allowed the students to develop their confidence, their knowledge of how businesses work and how to make profit from selling different products to the local school community. They have learnt the value of resilience, and keeping going, even when things don't go to plan. They have also learnt the value of teamwork and that networking with other businesses and schools is very important for success.
