Mrs Leslie came in and showed us how to make soap and we have made lots for our Fayre - it smells gorgeous! One of our parents donated some wicker hearts and we are going to make these into wreathes. Our next job is to collect holly etc... One of our teachers had some metal wreathes so we have decided to do fabric ones as well. A kind mum sent in lots of fabric for us to cut up.

It was packed out all afternoon and we sold every single thing we had made. We also had games for kids: guess the name of the teddy, how many sweets in the jar etc... We made sweet treats and had a chocolate fountain and people made lots of cakes. Millie's Grandad made us some wooden reindeer and they sold in a flash.

What did you learn this week?

How to run an event, get things ready, have 'floats' ready for change. How to sell things to customers and how to run a very busy Fayre.

What did you find difficult this week?

Keeping up with sales, restocking stalls, coping with the amount of people that came. Cleaning up after such a big event. Counting all the money that was in coins.

Week 9

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We counted up all our money and informed the Cumbria Animal Concern people that we had made £937 in total! They were delighted and their representative, Joanne, came and collected it. We were really proud of our efforts when she told us all about how they get animals in and what they do with them; our money will help them a lot. The animals often need vet attention and lots of care before they are ready to go to new homes and we have earned enough to help them for quite a while. We decided to give ALL our money to them as they need it so much.

What did you learn this week?

How great it feels to raise money for a good cause. We feel really proud and confident we could do something like this again.
