ProjX | Connect with your future workforce

What is ProjX?
An innovative place-based work awareness programme that offers students the opportunity to work with a range of businesses, across a range of sectors and SMEs, on exciting multi-disciplinary projects. It gives an insight into the range of leadership roles and skills needed to deliver against any professional project whilst providing opportunities for businesses to seek young people’s ideas and gain new perspectives on key challenges.
Volunteering Opportunity:
As part of the ProjX work experience week, each Student project team will plan and lead a meeting involving professionals from different businesses.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in these student-led meetings. You do not need to have a specific specialism.
Business professionals are invited to attend the 20-minute meetings with each project team. In a typical ProjX week, there may be two or three consecutive meetings. The volunteers do not need to prepare anything but come willing to listen and share advice and give feedback to the teams on their meetings.
The aim of this activity is for the students to demonstrate their understanding of how to prepare and lead an effective business meeting. This provides an opportunity for the students to not only engage in and experience a real business function, but also to generate feedback and suggestions to support their project.

How else can you get involved?
Fund or support a session. Currently the programme is funded for schools in West Cumbria through Sellafield Ltd SIX (Social Impact Multiplied). To sustain and expand the impact of the ProjX programme, we invite other organisations to join us in funding additional weeks and we are looking for professionals to support the delivery of various sessions to secondary students, helping to provide input for their project brief.
