CforLP is launching two new programmes in 2026, designed to help young people build confidence, connections and leadership experience, while creating opportunities for businesses and professionals to share their skills and support others.
Both programmes will offer participants and volunteers practical support, development opportunities and resources to help them get the most from their experience.
Thanks to funding from Sellafield Limited’s SiX – Social Impact Multiplied – we’re launching a mentoring programme for young people aged 16–30 in West Cumbria who would benefit from extra support, encouragement and someone to talk things through with.
Young people will be matched with a volunteer mentor who can offer guidance, encouragement and a listening ear, helping them build confidence and explore their goals and opportunities.

Delivered in partnership with Cumbria Community Foundation, the Next Generation Trustees programme supports early-career professionals in West Cumbria to take their first steps into volunteering as trustees within the local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
The programme aims to strengthen VCSE organisations by creating a new, well-supported pipeline of skilled and confident trustees, while giving early-career professionals the opportunity to develop valuable leadership, governance and decision-making experience.
There are opportunities to get involved in one or both programmes – whether you’re a young person or early-career professional looking for an opportunity to develop, or a business or individual who would like to share your skills, experience and time.
