During this session, we connected our ideas to the sustainable development goals. We decided that we need clearer signage on the bins at the pod, which is an outdoor eating area for years 8 and 9. We chose to make our campaign focused on improving the recycling facilities all throughout the school and the student's approach to recycling.

As a group we decided that it would be best to educate people on our changes to the recycling system through posters and assemblies. we had different groups assigned to different jobs and one of those groups worked out where it would be best to put the new bins. Some other students worked on designing a logo and many students put forward ideas about how to decorate the bins. We tried to come up with some short and snappy slogans but have not yet found the perfect line.

This week, we divided Green Planet into 3 different groups: leadership, schemes and memes. Within these groups, we further delegated tasks to certain people. Notably, we had 5 people working on our presentation. Another person worked on linking our campaign to sustainable development goals. In the groups that are focusing on making students engaged with our idea, we had people come up with things such as: a mascot, poster competitions, an animation, and possibly a sculpture made out of our plastic waste. We also came across an issue with our idea - recycling is only collected around once a month. This means that not all of the recycling will likely end up actually being recycled. We probably need to find somewhere to store the recycling, or a similar solution.
