Week 1

Team name: Vibes

Tell us what you have been doing this week

We had an introduction where we met our business partner Marc who works for No Name Travel, Marc told us a bit about what he done from leaving school to his job now (No Name Travel). We done an icebreaker where we told Marc what our name was and what we wanted to do when we left school.

No Name Travel - was really good meeting the group this week, the session started off with me telling them a bit about myself, what i had done since leaving school up until now, we then done a mini ice breaker with the children of the group where i asked them their names and there dream job, when leaving schoo

What did you learn this week?

The name idea:
At first, we had a vote for our company name and the most voted was Positive Vibes but then in our next session we changed it to vibes to keep it simple.

What did you find difficult this week?

What was difficult on that week was finding what to do since all events are before the end of bright stars so we all thought hard and we finally came up with an idea which was storey stones.

Week 2

Tell us what you have been doing this week

On that week we huddled up and started designing pictures on paper for our storey stones idea. After drawing for a while we went to look at other peoples rocks : some people had a storey tell with snow white and some had cheeky faces on and emotions.

What did you learn this week?

We learnt that other people had different tastes of different types of designs so we used all of them and now we have gotten to painting them on our rocks .

What did you find difficult this week?

Finance because we would of needed to make sure we stay under budget and not go over so our Finance team worked as hard as they can to make a profit and still make it affordable.

Week 3

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we have been getting much closer to finishing our rocks , since our production team have been quite fast in what design they have been doing on the rocks, Production team have also started packaging the rocks in little white bags .

What did you learn this week?

We have learned that it is pretty hard to complete everything for the time we have got in total so we have learnt that we should come in at lunch time and breaktime to get more things finished like what is happening now the blogging which can take a while.

What did you find difficult this week?

The production team again had to concentrate on the packaging since we have ordered our own packaging for our Storey Stones and our Resilience Rocks.

Week 4

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we have been filling more and more of our packaging with more rocks we have decorated ( also known as Storey Stones and Resilience Rocks .

What did you learn this week?

Talent we learned that everyone was talented with what the were doing because as a bright stars team we are already going to be a week early with selling our products with b3eautiful art on the rocks with beautiful artists.

What did you find difficult this week?

The difficult think this week is that we are giving our self 2 more week to finish everything for bright star and that we are behind on our blog post.

Week 5

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we have just been finishing off our packaging off rocks and posters so we will be prepared for our assembly after half-term to represent what we have been doing at bright stars.

What did you learn this week?

To keep going because since the blog post (which is this) is 2 weeks be hind we have still let the person who is doing it to take there time and put detail in this.

What did you find difficult this week?

Getting the packaging and posters done for selling.

Week 6 - half term

Week 7

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we have been doing a poster to put behind us when we are starting to sell our product in the book nook . we are also preparing for our presentation on Thursday morning.

What did you learn this week?

We learned to face challenges this week since it would be hard since we have to do the presentation and sell the product to make a profit.

What did you find difficult this week?

The difficult thing is to get everything finished since we are 2 weeks early to selling the products.

Week 8

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we are going to continue our blog and we are going to do the posters for our reading buddy's and as a company deciding the price of them with one of our marks £2 or £2.50. On the first day we made £33 .

What did you learn this week?

We learned profit this week because we are finding out the price of the reading buddy's because we had to vote as a team to make it fare.

What did you find difficult this week?

Amount of products, because it is hard since we have sold a lot of our products on the first day.
Spelling because, since week 4 we have not been using capital letters at the start of our sentences .

Week 9

Tell us what you have been doing this week

This week we are going to be non stop selling our product even adding on teddy bears (reading buddies). We are going to be taking 2 minute videos to talk about our business and we are going to be branding the bears and looking at our Book Nook ( the place where we read outside) to see what renovations we are going to have and what we are going to re-name the place to have more of an impact.

What did you learn this week?

We have learned how to count money and sell products to our school community.

What did you find difficult this week?

What we have found difficult this week is that to finish selling and organising our product to sell till the and of this week.

Bright stars has been great this year because of the kind business partner.

It meant alot to me because I feel like our teamwork has progressed so much and alot of people have benefitted from it.

Can you tell us the impact this programme has had on your school?

It has been wonderful seeing the children come together to meet their shared goal. We are really proud of how they have worked collaboratively and developed an understanding of social enterprise. They have been so committed to the project, giving up time after school and at break times and lunchtimes and are eager to continue this afterwards to ensure that our new Chill Zone has the impact that they envisage. The optimism and positivity has been infectious.
