Leading Change – Educational establishments and Students

Young people are tasked with developing inspiring campaigns to create positive change in their communities with the support of a business volunteer.

This page is under development and will be completed soon –  you will be able to follow future student updates here to see what they’re getting up to!

Student Impact

Leading Change gives young people the opportunity to take meaningful steps into leadership, supported every step of the way by teachers, business mentors and Centre for Leadership Performance.

Through the programme, students build confidence, develop decision-making skills and learn how to make a positive impact in their community. It’s a structured, supportive experience that helps them grow, not just as learners, but as leaders.

Hear from the teachers involved.

Anita Nieyst, teacher at James Rennie School, shares that the programme has helped her students feel “important and visible within the community.”

Tracy Hill, teacher at William Howard School, says it has “developed their skills as leaders and been an exciting opportunity.”

Leading Change 2026 – Sustainability Campaign Programme

CforLP is again working with Sellafield Ltd and funded through their SIX (Social Impact multiplied) programme, to deliver this year’s Leading Change Sustainability Campaign Programme. It enables 10 groups of young people from education establishments across West Cumbria to lead a campaign and raise awareness around key sustainability issues in their schools and communities.
