Week 1
Team name: Mr Bubble Slime
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We started our project with Orian. We talked about our business ideas and we liked the idea of making slime. We made our name Mr Bubble.
What did you learn this week?
We learned about business names and that they need to be catchy. We looked at logos and went on the internet to find some different ones.
What did you find difficult this week?
Thinking for ideas for our logo design.
Week 2
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We did some market research and looked at different slimes and which ingredients we would need. We looked at the prices of slime and asked each other what we would pay for slime. We started to look at how much it would cost to make the slime.
What did you learn this week?
We learned the ingredients of slime and how much they cost. We talked about what we want our slime to look like.
What did you find difficult this week?
We could not decide how much our slime should be. We had a big talk about it.
Week 3
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We talked about giving our money we make from the slime to charity. We also talked about making slime biscuits for people to buy too. We are going to make posters for our stall.
What did you learn this week?
That we should donate the money we make to charity. It’s important to support local charities like Maryport Inshore Rescue.
What did you find difficult this week?
Deciding which charity to donate to.

Week 4
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have looked at starting to advertise our slime. We went into groups and looked at making adverts to go around school. Another group made a script to tell everyone what was happening in assembly. The last group helped to make a video advert and get ideas for that.
What did you learn this week?
We learned how important adverts were to tell everyone what we are doing and why. And to make people want to buy our slime!
What did you find difficult this week?
We had a big discussion about how we could make people want to buy our slime.
Week 5
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We made our advert for assembly and to go on class dojo for parents to see. We also made posters to go around school.
What did you learn this week?
We are going to do pre orders for the slime so we know how much to make on the day. We want have enough for everyone to buy some.

Tell us what you have been doing this week
We showed our advert to the school in assembly. We took pre orders and had lots of people interested. We now know how much to make on Thursday. We are really looking forward to making our slime!
What did you learn this week?
We have loved making slime! We have learned about measuring and that it’s important to get the right amounts for the slime.
What did you find difficult this week?
It was hard to get the right consistency for our slime. We are going to try a different ingredient next week to see if that makes it better.

Week 8
Tell us what you have been doing this week
We have got our last orders in for slime this week. We have taken turns to make the slime, it is the second groups turn this week. We are trying a new ingredient to see if the slime is better.
What did you learn this week?
We have taken the photos of the slime being made this week and last week for our Bright Stars videos. We have really liked making the videos and deciding what to say and recording them.
What did you find difficult this week?
Making the new slime but we like it better!
Week 9

We have done our final evaluations and answered the questions again from our first week of Bright Stars.
What did you learn this week?
We looked at everything we have done with our Bright Stars project. We looked at all the things we have learned with our business.

I have learned lots doing Bright Stars, doing the videos and talking in assembly has made me a lot more confident, I’ve loved it.

Can you tell us the impact this programme has had on your school?
The children have really enjoyed working together to create all aspects of the business. They enjoyed creating videos so much they asked to make one of their journey for each week of the project! They have all really got stuck in, quite literally to the slime! But all were adamant the money was to go to a local charity, Maryport Inshore Rescue. They’ve worked so hard and put their all in every week. They’ve really worked well together as a team and they’ve bonded wonderfully as a year group. It has been lovely to see some of our quieter children volunteering for the advert or to speak in assembly. It really has had an impact in their confidence. It’s been wonderful working with Clary from Orian. She has been so helpful and has been brilliant working with our children too. It has been a pleasure to take part in Bright Stars for this project.
